Luke Cronin, P.E., S.E.

Owner

Luke has been in the construction and engineering industry since 2012. He graduated from the University of Kansas with his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2010 and received his M.S. in Structural Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2012. He has worked in industrial construction, commercial construction, and manufacturing. Some notable structural projects include U.S. Bank Stadium (home of the Minnesota Vikings), Hard Rock Stadium roof expansion (home of the Miami Dolphins), and Hudson Yards (a high-rise in Manhattan, NY). Luke is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Colorado, Utah, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Idaho, New Mexico, and Virginia and a Professional Structural Engineer (S.E.) in Nevada and Arizona.

Luke founded Cronin Engineering and Inspection in 2020 after getting a lot of questions from friends and family about residential structural engineering. He quickly realized that the market for residential and small commercial projects have been underserved and that people are frequently unhappy with the level of service they receive on these projects. He founded CEI on the principles of quality, customer service, honesty, and affordability. He is passionate about helping others and understands that all projects are important and strives to meet the customer’s expectations.

Luke grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and is passionate about outdoor activities. He is a big game hunter who especially enjoys archery hunting and also likes to make the occasional fishing trip back to Alaska. He is a former collegiate athlete, playing baseball in college before focusing on engineering. He also enjoys hiking in the mountains with his wife and their dog, reading, and cooking.
Miguel A. Gonzalez II, P.E.

Miguel A. Gonzalez II, P.E.

Engineering Manager

Miguel earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2012 from the University of Texas at El Paso. He then spent time in both the residential and commercial construction and engineering industry learning to engineer solutions that are applicable to real world construction constraints. Miguel earned his professional engineering licenses in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Florida in 2021. With his experience in both design and construction, Miguel brings a value-add mentality to his designs that always keep the client, contractor, and end owner in mind.

When Miguel is not busy saving clients’ money, he spends his time hunting waterfalls, rare books, old maps, and shiny earth minerals. His desk at home resembles that of an Indiana Jones movie set. He enjoys rappelling into dark, bottomless cave pits, scavenging the sea floor for hours, seeing the view from the tops of mountains, and getting lost in the isles of history in dusty bookstores.

His short-term goals are to obtain his professional surveyors license and learn two new languages.

Jacob Donaldson

E.I.

Jacob Donaldson earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver in 2021 and has specialized in structural engineering for residential construction ever since. He has extensive experience designing structural systems for projects of varying scale and complexity, working closely with builders, architects, and homeowners to deliver efficient, code-compliant solutions. His portfolio includes projects ranging from production homes to custom residences in communities such as Cherry Hills Village, CO and Thunder Pointe, TN.

In his current role, Jacob provides structural design for new construction, additions, and renovations, with an emphasis on constructability, long-term performance, and the production of clean, accurate construction documents that are clear and easy to follow for contractors in the field. He is a true Colorado native, hailing from Denver’s Highlands neighborhood. He and his wife now live in Aurora with their dog. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, camping, and exploring the outdoors.

Scott Boyk

E.I.

After earning his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Scott pursued distinctive roles within the structural engineering field. In the forensic sector, he inspected, assessed, and designed repairs for various commercial properties, including Colorado Technical University and Denver International Airport. Scott successfully ventured into residential engineering by completing a home flip in Lakewood, CO. He spends his free time immersed in Denver’s beach volleyball scene, competing in tournaments and coaching juniors of all ages. When he’s not on the court, Scott can be found at a trailhead, concert venue, or movie theatre.

Jack Miars

E.I.

Jack Miars is originally from Dallas, Texas and earned a degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2017. Since graduating, Jack has gained extensive experience working with different firms, contributing to projects from small residential to large federal projects and learned various design methodologies along the way. This wide-ranging expertise allows Jack to approach engineering challenges with a well-rounded perspective. Outside of the office and job sites, Jack enjoys spending time in the mountains or on the water with family, friends and pets.

Ginger Bennett

Operations & Administrative Coordinator

Ginger was born and raised in South Texas and holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Texas, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of North Texas. Over the years, she’s supported startups and small businesses with everything from operations to administrative systems—always jumping in where she’s needed most.

At CEI, Ginger helps keep things running behind the scenes with a thoughtful, flexible approach. She brings a wide-ranging background that includes not only business operations, but also teaching yoga, pet sitting, and even farming. When she’s not working, Ginger loves riding her bike in the sunshine and laughing with friends.

Alex McKen

Administrative Assistant

Alex joined CEI in October of 2024 and has loved being with the company. She graduated in 2009 from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. As our Administrative Assistant, Alex is the go-to person for organizing schedules, coordinating meetings, managing office communications, and keeping our day-to-day operations on track. With a talent for multitasking and a calm, can-do attitude, she ensures our team can focus on what they do best. When she is not working you can find Alex with family or friends hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, reading a good book or planning the next party.

Toast Cronin

Pawfessional Engineer

Toast has worked in residential construction for 2 days and enjoys napping on the job and cuddling with coworkers. He loves field inspections and specializes in sniffing around in backyards to identify poor grading that may lead to foundation issues. Toast just started puppy training, where he is familiarizing himself with commands and higher-level pawfessional engineering verbiage.
