Basement Dig-Out
Basement Expansion in Denver
This project required digging out a crawl space of a home to expand the basement of the home. Half of the home was supported over a basement while the other half of the house was built atop a crawl space foundation. The existing foundation consisted of concrete piers and grade beams. Some of the challenges of the project included how to install underpinned foundations to incorporate the existing pier and beam foundations, designing new framing to incorporate the existing foundations, and how to make the project economical by optimizing new micropiles to help support sections of the existing home. CEI worked closely with the general contractor, architect, micropile contractor, and homeowner to address all aspects of the project and keep the project on schedule and under budget.
